Fr. Philaret Littlefield, September 6, 2013

This month’s speaker will be Fr. Philaret Littlefield. Fr. Littlefield is pastor of St. George Melkite Greek Catholic Church on State Street in Milwaukee. A native of New York City, he entered the novitiate of the Studite Monks near Rome after completing high school. He made his solemn profession as a monk in 1975 at the Monastery of Our Savior in Steubenville, Ohio. There he received his bachelor's degree at Franciscan University and later completed seminary studies at St. Basil's Seminary and St. Gregory the Theologian Seminary, both in Massachusettes. He served as superior of the Monastery in Ohio from 1980 through 1994. Before coming to Milwaukee, he served as pastor at two Melkite parishes in central Ohio.

Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 A.M. in the Chapel of St. Edmund Campion, located on the 4th floor of Eckstein Hall. Mass will be followed by a meeting and discussion from 8:00-9:00 A.M., which includes a continental breakfast (suggested donation $4.00). Parking is available in the Eckstein Hall underground parking structure. (Enter the lot, pull a ticket, and find an open parking space. Once parked, take the elevator to main floor, which opens to the foyer, and go to the welcome desk to get your parking ticket validated.)

We look forward to seeing many of you at First Friday, as we begin the month of September.
