Dan McCarthy 'Milwaukee's Ten Year Plan to end homelessness' August 4th 2017

Our monthly First Friday Mass and Meeting is August 4th.

Our August speaker is Dan McCarthy, a development professional with Zilber Property Group, a knight in the Order of Malta, and also immediate Past President of The Cathedral Center Inc., an emergency shelter for women and families located in downtown Milwaukee. Dan will speak on Milwaukee's Ten Year Plan to eliminate homelessness. He will examine the key components of this strategic plan including the demographics of who is homeless in Milwaukee and the Plan's Four Pillars approach: (1) Prevention and Emergency Services, (2) Economic Support and Employment, (3) Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Support Services and (4) Permanent Housing. He will also discuss how one of the city's most successful shelters, The Cathedral Center, provides a safe environment for women and families while working to end homelessness, one life at a time.

Perhaps many of you already have volunteered at The Cathedral Center. Please consider joining us to hear from Mr. McCarthy, and bring a friend!

Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 A.M. in the Chapel of St. Edmund Campion, located on the 4th floor of Eckstein Hall (Marquette University Law School). Mass will be followed by our meeting and discussion from 8:00-9:00 A.M., which includes a continental breakfast (suggested donation $4.00). Parking is available in the Eckstein Hall underground parking structure. (Enter the lot, pull a ticket, and find an open parking space. Once parked, take the elevator to main floor, which opens to the foyer, and go to the welcome desk to get your parking ticket validated.)
