Fr. Phillip Bogacki 'From Death to Life' December 1st 2017

The St. Thomas More Lawyers Society of Wisconsin will have its monthly First Friday Liturgy and gathering this Friday, December 1, 2017.

Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 a.m. in the Chapel of St. Edmund Campion, located on the 4th floor of Eckstein Hall. Come pray with us, and see the beautiful, newly dedicated painting of St. Edmund Campion, installed in the chapel last month. Our presider will be Very Reverend Philip Bogacki.

Following the Mass we will have a short meeting and guest speaker, from 8:00 -9:00 A.M., including a continental breakfast (suggested donation $4.00). We are very pleased that Fr. Phillip Bogacki will be our December speaker, as well as presider. Fr. Philip, a graduate of Marquette University and the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) is pastor of Christ King and St. Bernard parishes in Wauwatosa. He is one of ten deans in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, and is the co-host of the weekly podcast Two Guys and a Gospel produced by the Archdiocese. His talk is entitled "From Death to Life: Changes in the Church and New Realities for Parish Life and Structures". He will propose that as the relationship between faith and culture meets significant challenges, what has been "normative" in Catholic life will need to change. Fr. Philip's talk also will provide an overview of the changing demographics of Catholics in the United States today, changes in parish leadership, and emerging developments to address these changes proactively within our own Archdiocese. He concludes that the opportunity and challenge to move from "maintenance to mission" is stronger than ever.

There are new parking instructions, per Marquette. Limited complimentary visitor parking is available in the Eckstein Hall underground parking structure, 11th Street level, between Wisconsin Avenue and Clybourn. There is a new parking system that will require two tickets to exit. Enter the lot, pull a ticket, and find an open parking space. Once parked, follow signs to the elevator. Take the elevator to the main floor, which opens to the foyer, and go to the Welcome Desk to get your "chaser" ticket so that you will not have to pay for parking when exiting. In other words, for free parking, when you exit you will need both the ticket you pulled when you entered and the "chaser" ticket the Welcome Desk gave you. You will be given instructions.
